- Put your box/bags out by 8am on your collection day.
- Place the box/bags at the front edge of your property so that they can be clearly seen from the road and easily collected without causing any obstructions.
- Remember to wash and squash to enable us to fit more on our vehicle!
- Please only put clean items in your box and squash drinks cans and plastic bottles.
- Don't put any other materials in your recycling box as we simply can’t take them
How do I get a box and/or bags?

What happens on a bank holiday?
As with refuse collections, there are no collections on Bank Holidays.
Generally, during the week following the bank holiday the collections take place one day later than usual. So if your usual collection day is Monday, after a bank holiday it will be Tuesday and so on.
During the Christmas period a special programme is distributed.
Collections for older or disabled residents
If you are unable to move your recycling box we can offer an assisted collection which involves picking your box up from your door.
For further information, contact Trafford Council Direct on (0161) 912 2000 stating that you need assistance and where you would like the box collected from.
Please note that we are unable to collect the boxes from inside buildings.
If live in a block of flats can I use the kerbside service?
The emerge service is available to residents in some low-rise blocks of flats.
Trafford MBC is aiming to provide larger purpose-built blocks of flats with their own communal recycling points. Please contact Trafford Direct on (0161) 912 2000.
In some cases we may have to make a site visit to assess your property for suitability. If the property is not suitable for kerbside recycling, it will be considered for the communal recycling service.
You can recycle over 30% of your waste by using the kerbside service. This means 30% less waste going to landfill. By recycling waste to make new products we save natural resources and help preserve the environment.
