The majority of funding for Fareshare Northwest comes from industry sponsors. Without it we couldn't continue. The funding pays for the small core staff team, for volunteer expenses, for administration, for warehousing and for all the costs associated with delivering food. Though we keep our costs as low as possible, it's a simple equation, the more funding we receive, the more food we can divert from waste and the more community food members we can help to assist disadvantage people across the northwest.
Our relationship with industry sponsors goes deeper than just funding - it's a partnership. Staff from the company organise fund-raising events and volunteer for us, meeting the people their company's funding are helping, seeing what a difference Fareshare Northwest makes. They enhance their brand through association with a charity that is trusted to deliver long-term practical solutions for vulnerable people in the community and a cause that consumers care about.
